First off, this month, has been such a whirlwind, what with having done so many random things!

Well, i must mention here the Death note Random cosplay we did 2 weeks ago. Being at work is rather boring and i'm on chat with Aly most of the day, and each time, there is generally a topic of squee...and it happened to be Death note.

I had read the first 1 shot/prologue manga of Death note that came out a couple of years ago (perhaps 2003), and I'm guessing by then the manga was already established, but I didn't know of it then. Ryuk freaked me out, but it was such an amazing story that I wanted more. So it's been a little love of mine which has been hiding for about 5 years...but now - I am fully going to start reading it fully!!!

SWANCON REPORT - 2008
The weekend after this was Swancon 2008 - this was my very first Swancon, and I must say, how awesome it was! I can't believe how comfortable & at ease I felt there, with all the other fans, discussing series, cultures, concepts of different books, films and genres, playing stage-theatre sports and sitting in on panels - like the Metagame, craft panel and the Harry Potter Panel!

But the best thing was - THE DOCTOR WHO THEME OF IT!!! It wasn't the official theme, but there was so much of the series focused on in panels; having a life-size Tardis in the main hall, Rod Shearman, one of the writers from the series, being there as one of the Guest Speakers of Honour...FREAKING AWESOME!! He told us some great stories of David Tennant and John Barrowman (zomg I love John Barrowman) and the whole time...for the 4 days of the convention (minus the ball) we were dressed from the Dr Who series! I was Captain Jack Harkness, and was The Doctor. So much fun, so much fan service! And for the whole weekend, I acted like Captain Jack - to girls, guys and Daleks alike! On Sunday we also had a Master, A master's wife, K9, a life size Dalek, and the Cathy-Dalek; who wore a home-made kitchen utensil interpretation of a Dalek. We also got to train using Light-sabres (both double ended like the Sith, and also the single light-sabres) in the Jedi Boot-camp! I'll actually be joining their group as one of the characters soon, so the trainer ( Darth Cerberous/Kaneda) said he would do some choreography with me! V V

For the ball, I dressed as Toby from the Labyrinth 2nd Manga cover. His character is the same as the baby from the movie, however in the manga series, he is 14 years old and looks remarkably Jareth-esque! (I will put up photos soon) I was there with Jareth (Aly) my sister Sarah (Shasta) and Cathy and Lisa who were in their amazing Serenity costumes! I am very proud of having done Aly's make up to complement her awesome Jaerith Costume - she has the perfect facial structure to pull of the Jareth eyes!

It was a great night with the highlights being the epic dance I did with Lisa to the "Once upon a time in Mexico" song, watching Aly and Shasta do their dance to "Magic Dance", taking pictures (Lisa you are AMAZING!!!) AND the conversation:

K: "Hey Jareth, do you have my breast-icals
Aly: "Yeah, they are in my crotch"
Lisa, Cathy & Shasta: .....*silence*......


But now, *like before* its World Cosplay Summit Preparation. I can't say what it is yet, but when I can, there will be many photos of progress and explanations of how I made props and other bits of the costume...all ican say now is it is going to be Big! Keep an eye out for updates.

On that note; to and ...Congratulations for getting into the Final for WCS! I'm looking forward to competing in the Melbourne prelim with Aly, and if all goes well....have the chance to go to the finals in Sydney come August!

Happy Chinese New Year!!! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!

Yesterday marked the new Luna year, with the beginning of the 12 year cycle again....the year of the Rat!

This year looks to be a great year for projects, work, money, and even relationships - so hope everyone has a great year!

Last year i bought a new card - A white RAV 4 who i have called "Bishi" (because he's my beautiful boy, who at times I also call Sora XD!) I've started a new job this year in Perth, and I must say i'm quite happy where i am so far. Quite busy, but i'm constantly doing something, so no getting bored - plus i get to use my Japaanese in daily conversations!

On the Cosplay front...after making extensive lists of what i will be doing...i have realised that this will be a very full on year! Projects will be one after another, with the chance of travelling not only interstate, but maybe even overseas. I will have to monitor where i am or otherwise i won't get things done in time >_<
I'm looking forward to meeting all the amzaing people who i met last year in Manfiest and who came to Waicon2007 last year! You guys rock!

I hope this year to get more photoshoots done and also, ( i can't afford it at this point), but i would love to get a computer & software that could handle editing with Final Cut Pro (which was the program i used back at uni to edit movies and DVD's.) For the moment, i make do with Windows Movie maker

Some Clubs i'm a member of and watching
(this is just the few i could find...still getting used to using DA )

So the Weekend that i have been preparing for 1 month for, non-sleep, random eating patterns...is finially over! *breaths*

I had a wonderful weekend! Yes, i was tired and rushed, but all in all, a great one this year! First off, the location was a definate upgrade to any previous years! As a cosplayer, i have to say being able to perfom on stage for such an great audience next to some of the most awesome cosplayers i've had the privillage to meet was the highlight. Thankyou to Jill, Yiji_chan, Kate, Tsubaki, Min & Aly for performing on Saturday and being able to turn it into reality and not just images in the mind! XD *huggles*

And on the second day doing KHII costumes & skit, thankyou to everyone who gave us support and congradulations afterwards. Knowing that people enjoyed what we had spent so much time doing was a nice satisifaction at the end of a long day!

I have to give special thanks to firstly, You have made doing cosplay so much more amazing this year. Being able to find someone who can understand my flailing with skit idea's, turn them into words so as to translate them so i can write them down...It is a rare find! XD And in regards to our Sunday skit, you took ideas and my script, interpreted it and combinded our strengths to make it into reality...and for that, I am forever greatful! Look forward to our future skits

Also to Yiji_chan, Kate, Lexis & Tsubaki_chan - you guys are full of win, and although i didn't get to spend much time with the three of you eastern state girls, i look forward to when we will be able to attend other cons together, and pershaps even organise another group cosplay in the near future

To Sooj - you who i love like a small burning flame which just exploded! *does hip-hop in the middle of the street* Thankyou so much for you awesome-saving ness and completing my costume's props and giving me the privilage of having your pictures on teh back of my cards...will forever remember your kindness that you have shown me

Everyone who did an awesome job at the con - you did wonderfully and really took the whole con to a new level. I hope that next year any problems can be ironed out, and more attention will be given to suggestions made because i believe that Waicon can really become something we can be happy about and respect...lets keep going along this path!

Well, i'd better be getting some sleep. Will be starting to resource materials/designs for new costumes soon, as well as getting some pictures of my costumes done *as i got hardly any this year...way too many things going on during the con*

Hi there all!!!
This update is relativley soon compared to my history on DA! Be expecting one soon with some cosplay pics and perhaps even some of my earlier pieces when i was drawing! ;D

Its been a whirlwind month...and now its finally about to...well, START ALL OVER AGAIN!!! Its almost Waicon, so preperation has already started! *stresses* ...>_<...

But just recently was the Waicon Ball, which was totally fun! Just i wish there were more ppl dancing at the begining of the night *lone K dancing on the floor* But a lot of random dance-off towards the middle of the night

Then the following day we did a photo shoot with the costumes we wore to the ball, together with Min and May in the video, with Aly and Sansele there as the "production crew!" *aka camera-person & laptop music/counter-in person*

And finally, today i was down in my home town with Aly, so we decided to do "instant cosplay" as Evangelion. I was Shinji Ikari and she was Kaoru Nagisa (of the Sea-shore) and we got shots at the ocean near where i live! Will have posts up soon - I PROMISE!!! *once i finish editing the video we filmed post-waicon ball)

But the reason why i am updating is a link to a vid i threw together. [link] It's a compilation of the pics from Manfiest that we had. I hope everyone had as much a wonderful and awesome time as what my memories had...and if not (or u had them taken away like Sora did )...THEN MAKE SOME FAKE-MEMORIES AND INSTERT THEM - LIKE CLOUD OR ROXAS!!!!

I am back on DA!!!! There have been a number of ppl who have been telling me to get my ASS in to gear and get moving with updating and posting...so here i am updating......briefly!!!

Unfortunatly posting on my gallery will have to come next week as i have just stuffs to get done here. The ever supporting and wonderfully-awesome Cescat will be helping me!!!

So my time over the last month has been:
Manifest: Totally awesome people! Cosplayers met there are ALL `DAT and full of HOT WIN!!! *KH Sushi & Purikura oh yeah * and i am so happy that people over there were so nice to us ppl's from Perth!!! So glad that we all got to talk and chat and get to know each otehr better - RANDOM FUN FOR THE WIN!! *hmmm...pocky never had such fun to eating it - until now...*;D*)

Tokyo Game Show: After manifest (like..the DAY after) i flew out to help out the WA booth at the Tokyo Game Show. Did cosplay there and it was amazing to meet other cosplayers and cosplay in the country that my costumes came from!!! (And if i was to say the highlights in 3 things:
1 - Cosplaying at TGS (did Sora from KHII on Sat, and Baiken from Guilty GearXX) XD
2 - going into the Square Enix booth/CASTLE!! and seeing their displays and going into the Closed theatre watching the 30 minute trailers of FFXIII, Kingdom Hearts (Coded, Birth by Sleep, 258/2) XD
3 - Meeting the people working at the Guilty Gear Booth, playing Guilty gear Overture (3 times) and ...*happy shudders*..meeting the creator/director of Guilty Gear, talking to him *(recieving his compliments on cosplay) and shaking his hand...all while i was waring Baiken.
It was an amazing experience just being within all the electric-atmosphere that was there, espically on the two public days!

....the only down thing to this if i have to say one would be what was written for that 1 day it on the game-blog ....words can be very mixed up, mis-interpreted and misquoted very easily!
I was really worried about ppl thinking stuff without even knowing me...but you know what, i was just being too silly and paranoid about it! Everyone has been really awesome about it and realising that the media is *cough* cutting and pasting words/quotes to where ever they want and i wouldn't say stuff like that. So thats that about that. >_<

Now i have to ball in Perth to look forward to *and getting all gentleman-ed up for my date for the evening...cescat* and then....BACK TO WORK & Cosplay prep for WAI-con07
